Biologists revealed a secret of a mysterious octopus

Scientists from Universities Prefecture of Shimane (Japan) found out that ancestors of an octopus of the Argonaut of a slang during evolution got rid of a sink, and then copied it at other mollusks. Research is published in the Genome Biology and Evolution magazine. Authors deciphered sequence of DNA of an octopus of Argonauta argo and compared it to a genome of other mollusks, including the Californian point-to-point octopus of Octopus bimaculoides and nautilusa Nautilus belauensis.
