On September 27 Day of the tutor and all preschool workers is celebrated. The holiday was founded at the initiative of a number of the Russian pedagogical editions in 2004 and supported by authors of many basic preschool programs, teachers of kindergartens and parents. Date is dated for opening the first kindergartens in Saint Petersburg in 1863. To Tambov Region today work 547 establishments realizing programs of preschool educations which visit nearly 40 610 children. Are engaged in preschool children of 4 467 teachers.
