Shlegel's Madagascar ears in large quantities perish from poisoning with poisonous chernorubtsovy toads who got on the island about ten years ago. As a result some local populations lose on six percent of individuals a year and risk to die out for only some years. Under the threat there are also other Madagascar snakes, and also local predatory mammals and birds.
