Scientists repeatedly studied a set from eight gold and silver tubules cores found in 1897 at excavation of a monument of an era of early bronze — the Maikop barrow. It became clear that actually it is the most ancient straws for the group use of beer from the general vessel. It was part of a funeral ceremony. Earlier was considered that it either scepters, or ritual subjects, or parts of a folding canopy. Since 1898 all collection of these of materials is stored in the Hermitage.
