NTP the Cabinet South Africa approved construction the Multi-purpose research reactor (MPR) which will succeed the research Safari-1 reactor located in Pelindab. The South African generating company South African Nuclear Energy COR declared that approval of the cabinet allows to provide the conditions necessary in order that production of medical radioisotopes did not interrupt. Company also expressed the support to recent approval by the power regulator of the country of the ministerial decision on construction new nuclear generating capacities.
