Exactly 110 years ago on July 3, 1911, in commemoration of the 50 anniversary of cancellation of a serfdom, in Gorodets on Aleksandrovskaya Square the monument to the Emperor Alexander II who has made a decisive contribution to release of peasants was open. That year on all Russian land more than 400 similar busts were established. However soon after Bolshevist revolution all of them were destroyed.
