Diet of Republic of Latvia decided to issue passports to children of aliens

Diet of Republic of Latvia in final reading adopted the bill of automatic granting since 2020 of nationality of the country to children of aliens. The ex-president of the country Raymonds Veyonis suggested to adopt this law. The bill adopted by a majority vote, against representatives of national association "All – Latvia spoke only! ", transfers information agency "RIA Novosti". The document suggests not to give the status of aliens to children who were born in Latvia after January 1, 2020 – but only in case parents of the child do not want for it nationality of other country.
