Federal State Statistics Service conducted research with the purpose to find out how the diet of Russians for the last 40 years changed. In 1980 the average inhabitant of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, reports Federal State Statistics Service, consumed 117 kilograms of potatoes a year. The indicator was cut by half — for the past year the average Russian consumed only 59 kg of potato in food, experts note.
