For orthodox Christians the image of the Blessed Virgin of the Burning bush always was the defender from fires and lightnings. There was a custom in case of a fire to bypass round the burning house with an icon of the Virgin of the Burning bush, a face to the burning building.
After educations fire protection this icon became the patron of firemen. More than hundred firefighters of the regional capital came today to Kazan Cathedral to take part in service. The major general Alexander Ilyich Sidorov visited action and the chief Glavnogo of managements Head department of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters in Zabaykalsky Territory .
the Service lasted less than an hour, but, according to the firefighters who have visited it, let know not only support, but also once again to realize importance and need of a profession of the firefighter.
