it is necessary to hold festivals of street art. With an initiative came to the youth center and told: we want to decorate a big wall in the city as it do in Moscow, Europe. Won a grant, and the dream was achieved. As a result after that festival in the city there was the first big composition. Besides, we ornamented the transformer box around a stop "Policlinic" near Komsomolsky Avenue. In couple of days all puttied housing services... But! The project still had small budget, and the same year we called very talented graffiti artists from all country and decided this box to depict from the different parties. It was the ant hill in a section, and in it there are a lot of different plots. After that case on one popular Spanish site there was article that Siberians in extreme conditions (we drew in October when snow already lay) draw beautiful pictures. Since that moment Krasnoyarsk graffist became known in other cities and the countries.
Annually we gather on a festival the big team, about twenty people, and we do one big composition. Over the years the structure decreased, but not because of its unpopularity but because it became more interesting to us to support gifted artists separately. To give chance to them to embody the ideas, to make by it a personal portfolio. The festival always included educational part. Besides, there are free graffiti schools.
For the first time the international headliner arrived to Krasnoyarsk in 2014 - a world star from Spain under the pseudonym Dems-333 which pictures cost 100 thousand euro. Then it arrived to us not for the fee, and just like that. It was interesting to it to visit Siberia. We ornamented back part of a facade of "Pilot" at bus station together with other artists. This case too to some extent influenced development graffiti arts in the regional capital.
B Krasnoyarsk really there are gifted artists. And some have no special educations, but they have taste, natural gift. And there are guys who graduated from art school, big professionals. Some leave from the Resident of Krasnoyarsk, work in the international teams.
Dialogue with the inhabitant
- How to distinguish where vandalism and where art? Speak, graffiti on a historical mosaic of Cinema "Rodina" were drawn by the quite famous artist … And it was pleasant to nobody.
- Certainly, there are places where it is not necessary to leave the drawings. And is legal, that is coordinated with administration, owners of buildings. But there is such direction in street art - "partizaning". There is a place where it is impossible to draw, but it, for example, simply is ideally suited under your idea. Perhaps, there the inscription, a cliche abruptly will simply look. Drawing will enter dialogue with the viewer. It is difficult to tell, vandalism it or art. Perhaps action, performance? Ambiguously. By the way, happens on the contrary: very beautiful image is drawn in an improper place. The impression spoils.
For me vandalism is when people write inscriptions on historical places, in the downtown, on monuments. But, as it is paradoxical, classical graffiti quite so and was born. People through a certain egoism advance themselves. It is necessary to catch a traffic that journalists told about you on all channels (after all usually artists leave signatures in drawings).
- And in what a difference between street art and graffiti?
- the Correct name of that we do, - street art. In the Russian mentality for some reason the word of graffiti associates with vandalism. Though actually this name of equipment. It is simple to eat a cylinder and a wall.
As for specifically graffiti, at first people drew on walls something font. Then the drawings connected with culture hip-hop, interesting characters began to appear. Then it became boring for artists, on houses there were stickers, posters, statements, inscriptions. Now there is a lot of directions. For example, a graffuturizm - abstraction, geometry. Or anti-graffiti - not clear to much style, a certain chaos. It seems that you in two seconds will draw something similar. But you will not draw. Because at first sight simple, naive style is special great skills. The ordinary viewer will not see it. Also draw such pictures, as a rule, people with a wide experience.
- Often there are conflict situations? And in general, the sidewalk artist faces what difficulties?
- Frankly speaking, infrequently the authorities provide a place where it is possible to draw. Somehow to us allowed to paint "Sporteks's" wall. But it existed not for long, after it took down. Therefore conditions as those are not present. Certainly, we try to achieve bigger, we show administrations projects, we explain that professionals will draw. And young children on hosts at schools study. Spoil nothing. I will note that the arts council of the city into which entered both officials, and artists of a street wave is created. Now everything is coordinated through it.
