Ministry for agriculture RepublicsPhilippines already has experience in implementation of projects on cultivation bangusa and tilapias, the correspondent of Fishnews reports. As the BusinessMirror newspaper writes, in tuna cultivation officials see a number of advantages.

First, consumers appreciate a fat tuna, and in aquacultural fish the content of fat the highest more. Secondly, such tuna immediately goes on counters, keeping the tastes. And the tuna caught in the wild nature often should travel many days in a box with ice.

the Co-founder of companies Fins and Leaves Jón van Buinen (Jonah van Beijnen) which has made big efforts for developments of the first fish factories on cultivation of a gruper on Philippines 10 years ago, is convinced that republic waters – best of all are suitable for tuna cultivation to Southeast Asia. According to the expert, the geographical position of the archipelago does it by an ideal place as islands are practically in the center of a zone of spawning of a yellowfin tuna. And it will help transition of an aquaculture to the full closed cycle with the future.

Jón van Buinen told that tuntsovy cages, despite the big sizes, are very similar to cages for bangusa which is made already by the Philippine akvafermer. Also the businessman noted that the government should concentrate on tuna cultivation from caviar, instead of to get whitebaits in environment.
