According to the last population census on Kolyma live about 6 thousand representatives of the indigenous small people of the North. The most numerous of them are Evens, Koryaks, Itelmens and kamchadyly. For maintenance of their traditional crafts, revival of cultural and spiritual traditions in the region the special state program calculated on 2014 - 2020 works, and also private social projects are realized.

Keeping traditions
In Garmand's separated village Severo-Evensky district are lived by about 150 people, the most part of the population — representatives of the indigenous small people. Not to forget the sources, locals organized a circle of national and applied creativity.

On it metallurgists put million rubles in updating of schools, kindergartens, hospitals, the leisure centers, help pensioners and disabled people. In the separate line support of the indigenous small people registers in the agreement. In the current year company allocated for these purposes of 1,5 million rubles.
"Annually we make a detailed plan of actions, and goes strictly on it. It is some directions: creation of conditions for more comfortable life of representatives of KMNS, support of tribal communities and projects on preservation of culture of the people of the North — Stepanova Ludmila notes. — Annually company gives support to students from needy families which consists in journey payment to a place of study and back. Today seven representatives of KMNS use this help. Children study in Magadan: in FEDERAL STATE-FUNDED EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION FOREIGN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION "SVGU", polytechnical technical school, other educational institutions. The big help goes also to our reindeer breeders. This year support will be got by the fifth reindeer-breeding crew "Makhayanga". On these money field men plan to buy two furnaces, power plant, equipment, ware by winter. The big program of assistance of MSPH "Arbychan" comes to the end.

also in Omsukchan district and Srednekansky district Magadan Region where there are production sites of companies. As well as in Severo-Evensky district, here to representatives of radical ethnoses metallurgists help to get education, allocate funds for purchasing stock necessary for traditional crafts for tribal communities, are put in development circles of applied creativity, carrying out festive actions, rendering medical care and address support of lonely pensioners and large families.

Independently in the joint action plan of Polymetal and the authorities there are the actions directed on revival, promoting of culture of indigenous people of the North. There is a lot of them, they different. It and training of representatives of KMNS in the language, and carrying out the national holidays allowing not only to them to know the sources better, but also to all inhabitants of Kolyma regardless of nationalities to plunge into original ceremonies and traditions of aboriginals of the region. Twice in Magadan with financial support of "Polymetal" passed etnonofestival "Dzyalbu". In former times at Evens spring meetings during which economic affairs were discussed so were called, there was an exchange of goods, national games, arrivals on dogsleds were arranged. In 2016 of tradition it was decided to revive. Every year part in an ethnofestival is taken by more than 2 thousand residents of Magadan, and also guests from Chukotka Autonomous District, Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, Khabarovsk Territory, the Republics Republic of Khakassia and Komi Republic, Kemerovo Region. With big scope this year in area noted Hebdenek – new year on the Even customs, Bakaldydyak — a festival of big fish. Participants of festive events admit – without participation of socially responsible partner many of them could not get on these important events for northerners and the scale of holidays would be absolutely another.
