Karachayevsk were visited by the archbishop Pyatigorsky and the Circassian Feofilakt. Its meeting in Panteleymonovsky church turned out sincere and warm: at an entrance to the temple together with clergy of arrivals of the Southern federal Karachay-Cherkess church district led by decent, the archpriest Subtelny Eugenie the lord was met with a magnificent loaf and an ayran bowl by students of KCHGU, "KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSKY STATE UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER U. D. ALIEVA", FEDERAL STATE-FUNDED EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION FOREIGN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION "KARACHAEVO-CHERKESSKY STATE UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER U. D. ALIEVA" in national clothes and pupils of Sunday school who read touching verses. Having thanked children and having taken an interest at them as pass vacation, Feofilakt endowed them with sweets. In the temple choristers already executed psalms and glorifications, and everything was ready to church service which the big group of Cossacks of Tersky Cossack army from Pyatigorsk and Goryachevodsk joined. … Each time, coming to this temple located in very narrow Olkhovy Lane from which blows as a pacification, I remember a proverb: "The zolotnik and roads is small". This church appeared in 1996 at insistance of a local orthodox community which had before at the order only the apartment in one of high-rise buildings where passed church services. By means of City administration believers got the small estate which diligence of the prior of that time, the father Pilyushenko Sergy, was converted in small, but the cozy temple.
Here for more than 20 years the Panteleymonovsky church is the center of gravity for orthodox believers of all Karachay city district and the Karachay municipal area. For these years priors of the temple changed, each of them introduced the contribution and in strengthening of ranks of flock, and in church arrangement. Arrival grew, got stronger therefore believers raise long ago a question of a construction of the new temple, more spacious and convenient, Karachayevsk as the cities of republican value, the tourist capital of Karachay-Cherkess Republic. Of course, the church location - the deaf narrow side street which has been branched off from federal roads and the leader down, to the residential district "Mill". It is not convenient for journey - to two cars here not to be developed. The archbishop Feofilakt somehow complained: "Each time, coming to Karachayevsk, always I lose a reference point - in what place to go down to church …" Needless to say that the non-resident can simply not get to the temple without guide. And after all the church is necessary not only for citizens, but also for the numerous tourists coming to our edges about only Russian Federation. The question of place allocation for construction of the new temple was brought up more than once before local authorities, but everything rests against lack of the suitable areas in the city. Believers do not despond because are sure: with the God's help at them everything will turn out...

The question of preservation of the unique drevnekhristiansky monuments located in the territory Karachayevsk district, - Shoaninsky and Sentinsky temples became the main subject of a meeting. The administration of the Karachay municipal area together with administration of Kosta-Khetagurovskoye SP, local youth carries out a lot of work on territory improvement round the Shoaninsky temple: here regularly is under repair access it is expensive, the belltower, and also steps and a fencing is constructed. And here the Sentinsky temple that is located on the mountain near an aul the Bottom Teberda, demands to itself special attention. Especially in recent years here happens populously, especially during Apple Saviour. The ancient temple of the X century and later monastic constructions remained up to now, but their state, to put it mildly, leaves much to be desired. There is no doubt that these places have huge potential for developments pilgrim and cultural and informative tourism. Today interesting projects on creation of a museum and tourist complex are developed, however it is obvious that already now it is necessary to do everything possible to keep that we have. In this regard by the lord it was noted that the declared President of the Russian Federation Year of the volunteer gives the chance to involve more actively youth on protection and restoration of monuments of ancient architecture. during conversation in administration it was decided to devote to ancient shrines a number of actions: round tables, scientific and practical seminars. The archbishop Feofilakt expressed gratitude to Chapter of Karachay-Cherkess Republic to Rashid Temrezov for creation of the Alansky drevnekhristiansky center which has to intensify process of restoration of ancient Christian shrines. In such conditions there is a need of training of professional guides for tourists and the guests coming to the republic.
After a meeting with city heads and the area in the assembly hall of university of the lord took part in conversation with students and teachers of university. - there is no holiday on which we would be not not congratulated by dear archbishop Pyatigorsky and the Circassian Feofilakt. It is symbolical that our meeting takes place in one of days sacred at Muslims of month Ramadan. At Christianity and Islam one moral principles and cultural wealth, therefore mutual understanding of cultures and traditions, good-neighbourhood - the main pledge of the world and friendship between the people. It is sure, this meeting will yield good fruits for our common cause - educations, sciences, cultures.
… Running forward, I will note: the atmosphere of informative dialogue and the genuine interest shown by audience to sources of Orthodoxy reigned in a hall. Students and teachers asked the most unexpected questions. But in the beginning there was a word of the pastor, and the speech of the lord there began with a congratulation present with sacred month Ramadan. For many became opening that Feofilakt is still operating Patriarchal arrivals in Turkmenistan.
