Sergey Lavrov honored memory of victims of Rwandan genocide

In the center Province of Kigali the Minister of Foreign Affairs Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov assigned a wreath to gravestones on a memorial cemetery of victims of the Rwandan genocide which has occurred in 1994th. He urged to make everything that similar crimes never repeated, having emphasized need of resistance of xenophobia and other intolerance.

It is expected

that during visit it will meet the president of the country Paule Kagame and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Louise Mouchiquivabo, transfers information agency "ITAR-TASS" .

the Memorial represents a mass grave with "A memory flame". It constantly burns, reminding of genocide victims in Rwanda which became representatives of the people the Tutsis killed with the people of the Hutu. Here about 250 thousand people are buried, all were lost from 800 thousand to one million. Massacre stopped when the Rwandan patriotic front in which the majority was made by Tutsis, won civil war and put an end to ethnic contradictions.
