the Norwegian ship-building group Vard Holdings Limited (VARD) won contract on design and vessel construction for underwater laying of a cable for Prysmian Group. Cost contracts, including delivery the special equipment, makes about 170 million euros, the press service of ship-building group reported.
the Latest specialized vessel for carrying out difficult underwater works will be capable to stack a cable at a depth more than 2 thousand m and to transport the increased volume of a cable on a deck platform. The vessel will be equipped with systems for digging and zasypki deep-water trenches, including heavy-duty plows, and the newest systems of positioning and the improved stability. Length of a vessel will make 172 m, width – 34 m. Capacity – crew from 120 people.
the Project of a vessel cable layer is developed by Vard Design design office in Olesunda (Norway). VARD and Prysmian finish design of a vessel and according to contract construction of a vessel is planned to start towards the end of 2018. Vessel transfer to the customer is planned on the Norwegian shipyard of Vard Brattvaag in the IV quarter 2020. The case of a cable layer will be constructed on the Romanian shipyard of Vard Tulcea (Tulcea). The affiliated companies will be involved in the project by Vard, suppliers of the specialized equipment and technical solutions.
Conditions contracts are caused bythe right of the client for agreement cancellation without presentation of the reasons.
