the Exposition will acquaint visitors with works of painting and graphics of the XVIII-XX centuries from meeting of the Kineshma art and historical museum.
at the end of the XVIII century a genre of a portrait becomes unusually popular in the Russian art. It confirms also a wide circulation of a provincial portrait. Often serf artists studied, copying known masters, repeated the receptions developed by capital school. One of such is presented at exhibition Peter I portrait of a brush of the unknown artist.
at the end of the XIX century with the advent of the photo, the strong contender to a picturesque portrait becomes the photograph, differing the maximum similarity of model. Markicheva changes are reflected in portrait painting of the beginning of the XX century, aspiration to show not external similarity, and an inner world of model.
Painting of the Soviet era created on canons of socialist realism, is presented in museum meeting, bright names of the Kineshma artists: Bazhenov Ye. I., B. Pavel Petrovich Kustov, Vasilyev K. N., S. I. Dyupinsky, L.A Uspensky. Portraits and the self-portraits created by new generation of artists of the end of the XX century are presented to expositions: Gopp V., Belov M. and Belov A., whose works become rather a reflection of artist's soul, with its peripetias and philosophy.
