Brussels, 5 December/Xinhua / - the Minister of finance Portugal Senteno Mario on Monday was elected the new chairman of Euro Group for a period of two and a half years. It will enter a position on January 13, 2018.

Senteno Mario will be the first minister of the South European economy who will hold this post. The first meeting of Euro Group under its presidency will take place on January 22.
