Since 2007 as a result of administrative in connection with adoption of the new Forest Code all functions on management of the woods of the state fund are transferred to territories of the region to Mari El Republic. From the moment of introduction of the Forest Code the governing body of forestry - the ministry, and 18 forest areas from the transformed 21 forestries was created also.

Besides, Yevstifeev Alexander set the task of continuation of vigorous activity of suppression of illegal deforestation for forest wardens working today.
"As for reasonable operation of forest fund, I passed all areas and almost in everyone asked a question: "When inhabitants of the republic will have an elementary opportunity to write out, receive, buy the woodlands on economically reasonable conditions to construct a bath or the house? Separately the head of the republic stopped on a subject of . "The green fund" was at all times national property Mari El Republic and one of important sectors of its economy: more than a half of the territory it is covered with thousands of hectares of forests. And the wood for the republic it is not simple a source of wood and a welfare basis, and an integral part of life. In the region the wood processing enterprises work. Their production is demanded in the industry, agriculture and construction. New productions that gives to the republic workplaces and surtaxes in budgets of all levels are created. But while the potential of this direction is not used fully.
"To us serious with processing are necessary to. It is not necessary to trade in the crude wood, it is necessary to be engaged in the wood which is processed. It is other price policy and workplaces because while we seriously are not engaged in logging and reforestation. is necessary, but we have to be perspicacious because together with to us swindlers who need to be told "no" are torn, - the elected Head of the republic told.
Today forestry Mari El Republic is more than 1,2 million hectares of lands of forest fund, "Avialesookhran's" specialized public autonomous institution, 20 subordinated establishments, with the total number of workers more than 600 people, and also over 200 tenants of the timberland on different types of using: to wood preparation, farming, recreation and others.
"I urge to manage zealously, but I say that in rent business enormous quantity of opportunities which are not realized. It is a task not ordinary workers, and the branch management, - Yevstifeev Alexander paid attention, addressing to the gathered. – Now there is a subject of agricultural grounds which, sometimes, grow because are not used. Our task not to lose a ground, but we understand that here too it is necessary to behave reasonably because if they are not used, let will be the woody district, than a place of an unauthorized dump", - emphasized Chapter Mari El Republic.
Alexander Evstifeev also remindedYevstifeev Alexander till 2028. It is connected with need of carrying out inventory of all complex of forest resources of the region, definition of the purposes and problems of work with it.
"We have to understandhow we will manage. This plan it is necessary to approve and work strictly according to it, to understand that anybody has no opportunity to recede from it and if there is a need of changes, they need to be brought in the legal way and to continue to work, meeting terms which we settled", - Yevstifeev Alexander concluded.
