Together with publishing house "Corpus" we publish a fragment from the book of the doctor of medicine, the specialist in infectious diseases Paul Offit "A deadly choice. Than fight against inoculations threatens all of us" , devoted to a denial of all arguments of anti-inoculative campaigns. The edition is carried out with Evolyution fund support. The translation from English is executed Brodotskaya A..

the vaccine against a virus of papilloma of the person appeared

When in June, 2006 to United States of America, fighters with inoculations resolved it to destroy. Partly it was reaction to rather new method of its production — genetic engineering. To create a vaccine against a virus of papilloma of the person, scientists took the gene responsible for surface protein of a virus — L1 protein — entered into a small ring molecule of DNA, a so-called plasmid, and then placed a plasmid in barmy cages (in usual baking yeast). When cages of yeast bred, they created a large amount of L1 protein of a virus of papilloma of the person thanks to the plasmid entered into them. Then L1 protein itself goes to the structure which is very similar to a virus, and it use as a vaccine. The producer of a vaccine by means of such process creates four different L1 proteins — from four different strains of a virus of papilloma of the person. It means that the vaccine contains only four virus proteins (for comparison, Jenner's vaccine against smallpox contained at least two hundred different virus proteins and besides it was polluted by foreign proteins from a cow lymph).

Application of , allowing to receive only one — necessary — virus protein in the most sterile conditions, shows how the science of production of vaccines since then when for inoculations collected contents pustul on cow skins evolved dramatically. However it did not make on opponents of inoculations the slightest impression: they claimed that the vaccine against a virus of papilloma of the person causes a stroke, thrombosis, a heart attack, paralysis, spasms and a syndrome of chronic fatigue. The idea that can serve as the reason of all this the one and only virus protein while the whole natural self-replicating virus to anything such does not lead, it is illogical. We easily wave away from activists of anti-inoculative movement of the middle of the XIX century who claimed that from inoculations healthy children turn into the bull-calves, doomed to run on four feet, to be grazed on a meadow and to rage — but after all the biological basis of these statements as is logical, as well as today's charges to a vaccine against a virus of papilloma of the person.

Vaccine

— it against the will of God's. Opponents of inoculations consider that vaccines are opposite not only the nature, but also God, and as proof continually give biblical scenes and quotes: "I hid my child, like Moisey's mother — one activist declared. — She was afraid that the child will kill under the heartless cruel law, and the same danger threatens also to me, but I have no reeds, and to the aid of my child the daughter of the Pharaoh" [ 1 "Daughter of the Pharaoh" will not come: Durbach, Bodily Matters, 62.<"35>" ]. Activists remember also beating of babies under the decree of the tsar Herod, assimilating it consequences of obligatory vaccination [ 2 "Decree of the Tyrant": Ibid. ].

Fighters with inoculations claim that vaccination — this perversion of Christian sacraments which have to preserve children instead of endangers them. Vaccination — it "not Christianly", some kind of "honoring of a devil", turning the child in "Antichrist" [ 3 of the Vaccine and Antichrist: Ibid. 118.<"42>" ]. Author of a lampoon "Jenner or Christ? " Jenner or Christ calls inoculations "the most scandalous blasphemy, a crime both against God, and against the Nature" [ 4 ? (Jenner or Christ? ) : Ibid. ]. Khyum Marie - Roteri, the prominent activist of anti-inoculative movement of the eightieth years of the XIX century, claimed that vaccination — this presage of the Apocalypse predicted in Revelation Bogoslov Ioann 16:2: "The first Angel went and poured out the bowl on the earth: also cruel and disgusting purulent wounds in public, having a tracing of an animal and worshipping to his image" [became 5 Khyum Marie - Roteri: Ibid. ]. According to Khyum Marie - Roteri, scars after inoculations were a devil tag. The spirit Khyum Marie - Roteri is live and to this day; her worthy successor — Déby Vinnedge who has founded the Children Bozhii for Life organization (Children of God for Life) in Largo in staff State of Florida. Déby Vinnedge's indignation causes that circumstance that two lines of human cages (which it is possible to use for production of vaccines some more centuries) are applied to production of vaccines, received in the early sixties the last century as a result of voluntary abortions, in particular. These cellular lines are applied to production of vaccines against a rubella, chicken pox, hepatitis A and rage. Déby Vinnedge refuses to recognize to which creation cages of abortirovanny embryos are applied, and considers that for it it is worth separating from church.

to

"Quietly to be reconciled with application of cages of an abortirovanny fruit in medical means — a frank shame for mankind — were declared by her — mean defilement of value and advantage of the human life, granting moral right to use abortirovanny babies for commercial purposes, to pull out them from a maternal womb for the sake of someone's benefit. We should not become slaves to culture of Death. Use of abortirovanny babies as which help those children who was lucky that did not interrupt their life till the birth — it is the most vile cannibalism what only can be imagined. However to us suggest to reconcile to it under various plausible excuses, besides, which forces to ask a question: what it for progress, what for a civilization if we did not find the best means to protect themselves, than remains of the killed children? " [6 of Déby Vinnedge: Offit, Vaccinated, 90.<"50>" ]. Déby Vinnedge tried to incline Papal academy of life on the party, but achieved nothing: Vatican City believes that the lines of cages received as a result of voluntary abortions, promote wellbeing of all mankind as protect from deadly infections [ 7 of Vinnedzh and Papal academy of life: Ibid. 91.<"52>" ]. (It is paradoxical, but the fact: as the disease of a rubella during pregnancy annually led to thousands of abortions, a rubella vaccine, as well as Catholic church, prevented a set of cases of interruption of pregnancy. )

Mass promotion. To Victorian England fighters with inoculations took advantage of printing mass media which started playing in society the increasing role [ 8 Mass promotion of anti-inoculative movement Victorian England: Durbach, Bodily Matters, 47-48.<"55>" ]. They published hundreds various leaflets and brochures, participated in campaigns for the publication of reader's letters in local and national newspapers, distributed to England and Wales some periodicals, hung out the posters inviting citizens to conversation on dangers of vaccines in shop-fronts, and distributed terrible, grotesque photos of children, allegedly victims of inoculations — perhaps, the portrait of the child having a cancer of an eye was the most terrible. The editor-in-chief British medical magazine Hart Earnest was distressed concerning progress of anti-inoculative promotion: "[Fighters with inoculations] developed very vigorously operating system of distribution of brochures, incendiary cards, envelopes with grotesque images and other means of promotion of the views". The same who was convinced of advantage of inoculations, did not offer "public antidote from this production". [ 9 Hart Earnest about anti-inoculative rhetoric: Ibid. 50.<"57>" ]

Today's ways of mass communication — it, in particular, national TV programs, websites and blogs, video hosting services "YouTube" and Twitter. Thanks to these channels fighters with privikami have an opportunity to inform the ideas to million people quickly and cheap. In it they became skilled much better, than health care bodies, doctors and scientists. Rakhul Parikh, the pediatrician from Uolnat-Krik in State of California, in 2008 published article, an echo repeating words Hart Earnest, told one and a half centuries ago. In editorial article under the name "Fight for Reputation of Vaccines" Parikh wrote: "Groups on fight against inoculations are distinguished by the good organization and passion. They use popular platforms like Oprah's show and King Larry, play upon heartstrings of the audience and achieve that parents have doubts, whether it is worth imparting children. Such speculation on emotions is not forgotten even if it is deprived of logic. In reply our doctors and scientists provide exact scientific data and quotes from researches, and it does not touch any strings in soul of the majority of parents. Passionless messages do not get stuck in memory — unlike heart-breaking stories. To us Rakhul Parikh and modern promotion is time to change" [ 10 : R. K. Parikh, Fighting for the Reputation of Vaccines: Lessons from American Politics, Pediatrics 121 (2008): 621–622 . ].

At all similarity of anti-inoculative movement of the middle of the XIX century with modern is and evident differences. Rich — poor. Laws on obligatory vaccination to England were aimed the XIX century at poor people. The authorities were convinced that the working class, not such educated, will be afraid rather of inoculations and not so willingly will agree to take root. As a result resistance to inoculations arose in the working Areas of East End and southern London, and also in the industrial cities it seems Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool [ 11 Resistance to inoculations in the environment of working class: Durbach, Bodily Matters, 92.<"66>" ]. Day and factory workers, handicraftsmen, small shopkeepers — all those to whom first of all the public humiliation in inoculative offices threatened rose against inoculations mainly.

Today all differently: resistance to inoculations is strongest in the top layers of middle class, among parents with a professional average and the highest which at decision-making concerning health inquire on and are sincerely convinced that in our information century can quite become experts [ 12 the Social and economic origin of the parents refusing inoculations: P. J. Smith, S. Y. Chu, and L. E. Barker, Children Who Have Received No Vaccines: Who Are They and Where Do They Live? Pediatrics 114 (2004): 187–195 . ]. However trouble in that, how exactly they inquire and obtain expert data. Journal and newspaper articles, as well as , often supply with the wrong information and intimidate without need. Besides it is easy to find adherents even if it is not enough of them in
