The court obliged Akhmetov Serik and other ex-officials to pay damage

Lawyers of other former officials who have also submitted the appeal, too do not agree that the damage is imputed to their clients. They asked to cancel a judgment of the first instance about collecting more than 17 million tenges from them.

the Claimant considers that respondents caused to the state direct material damage in the sum nearly 202 million tenges "as a result of illegal actions" the former officials. Allegedly this damage was formed as a result of overestimate of cost of materials and on hot galvanizing at work on replacement of support of external lighting on city streets Karagandy.

In a sentence of court which was announced in 2015, it is said that Akhmetov Serik, Abdishev Bauyrzhan, Smagulov Meyram, Adambekov Mokhtar and Zhakenov Aydos "on preliminary arrangement by a group of persons, prevented lawful business activity". Allegedly they limited the rights and legitimate interests of individual entrepreneurs and the private commercial organizations, with use of the office powers contrary to interests of service for extraction of benefits and advantages to other organizations, did harm to other organizations and large damage to the state.

Business Akhmetov Serik and the former high-ranking officials Karaganda Region were one of loud in 2015. 21 persons appeared before the court then, key accused on the case of corruption got prison penals. Now some persons involved were released. Akhmetov Serik, according to messages, serves sentences in a colony to Karaganda Region.
