As it was reported earlier, the Antimonopoly committee addressed in department of the public executive service of Ministry yustitsii Ukrainy with a request to take measures for recovery of penalty and a penalty fee from the Russian PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" on the basis of the decisions of the courts made earlier. In February, 2016 Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine made the decision on imposing on PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" a penalty in 85,9 billion hryvnias (about 3,2 billion dollars) because of violation of the legislation on protection of the economic competition. Department counted a 100 percent penalty fee on 85,9 billion hryvnias of a penalty of PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" later. the committee claim concerning compulsory recovery of penalty and a penalty fee from the company in the sum of 172 billion hryvnias (6,4 billion dollars). PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" appealed against this decision in the Kiev appellate economic court, but on February 22 the court rejected the complaint of the Russian company.
