Eight new cases of death of animals from AChS

are registered

Riga, on August 29, 2016, 14:34 — information agency "REGNUM" Inspectors of the Food and Veterinary Service (FVS) of Latvia revealed eight new cases of the African plague of pigs (APP) in population of boars, reports LETA.

So, two dead boars are found in Municipality of Sigulda and on one — in the Smardsky volost Municipality of Engure, the Rayskumsky volost Municipality of Pargauja, the Yaunpiyebalgsky volost Municipality of Jaunpiebalga, the Krapsky volost Municipality of Ogre, the Aronsky volost Municipality of Madona and the Launkalnsky volost Municipality of Smiltene. It is reported that in the territory of these volosts cases of AChS came to light and earlier.

Thus, AChS among boars in Latvia is stated at 746 animals in 196 volosts of 63 edges, and also in two cities — Rezekne and Pļaviņas. AChS cases among domestic pigs are revealed in two farms in the Varkavsky and Gulbensky regions where it was necessary to slaughter 50 and 142 pigs respectively.

Let's remind, AChS — very dangerous and easily given viral disease of pigs. In places where this disease is stated, it is necessary to hammer all herd therefore the outbreaks of this illness cause great economic damage to breeders. According to calculations of experts, AChS extends with a speed of 100 km a year.
