According to the edition, the 44-year-old man, the Turk by origin, living in the city of Kampen, placed on the page in Facebook the publication in which called the monarch the murderer, the tyrant and the thief. Besides, it processed photos of executions of terrorist group "Islamic State" (IG, is forbidden in Russia), having placed instead of the victim head the head of the Dutch king.

Incident happened in April of last year. The police found an offensive post during monitoring of social networks regarding detection of possible threats to royal family in anticipation of their visit to the city of Zwolle.

the Man arrested, it left in prison of 14 days then it was set free. Now the court rendered a verdict in which recognized that actions of the defendant contradicted national interests and the constitutional position of the king.

"Such behavior is inadmissible in our society and it is considered a criminal offense" — is told in the court resolution. The court decided not to resend the defendant in prison, however to it appointed suspended sentence with a trial period in two years.

the Netherlands is one of the few countries of Europe where there is a punishment for an insult of the king. The relevant law was adopted in the XIX century. According to this document, the maximum term of punishment for such crime makes five years of prison and a penalty of 20 thousand euros, transfers Reuters.

Many Netherlanders consider "the law on majesty insult" as a past remnant which has to be cancelled, however at high level this question was never discussed.

In April of the current year the Minister of Justice of the Netherlands Ard van der Ster declared that in the country cancelled criminal liability for an insult of heads of the foreign states, however a ban on an insult of the local monarch do not intend to remove.
