The Austrian company Gierlinger Holding GmbH started production at pork processing plant to Sremska to Mitrovica, in northern part of Serbia.
Investments into new production helped to create about 300 new workplaces on object, reports the Serbian government.
The prime minister of Serbia Vuchich was present at the official opening ceremony. During a ceremony he noted that, for the purpose of support of investments of the Austrian company in the meat industry of Serbia, the government of the country provided the investment help to concern of 5,8 million euros.
The plant in Sremska Mitrovica belonged earlier to the Serbian meat-processing company Mitros which submitted recently the application for bankruptcy and stopped production in Sremska to Mitrovica.
Gierlinger Holding got company assets in January of last year.
After modernization the object will process about 1000 beasts in a week. The Serbian plant specializes on pork processing, but also will process a bird and to make products from beef.
