MISSION OF THE ACADEMIC PROFESSORS

At the beginning of a week passed the first meeting of new members of Academy – professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This honorary title testifying to recognition of merits of young scientists, Academy of Sciences entered in 2015. According to quotas of various offices 495 professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences (middle age – 43–45 years) were elected. Among them and the head of the department of theoretical physics of E.V. Shpolsky of Institute of physics, technology and information systems of MPGU, the deputy director for scientific work of Institute of spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences of f. - m of N Andrey Naumov who has commented on an innovation:

– Professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be engaged in three main directions. First, it is expert activity. Acceptance by the government of the decision on financing of this or that scientific direction is preceded by an expert assessment of offered programs, elaboration of strategy of development of science and technologies. As a rule, professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences conduct active researches in the breakthrough directions, are on a first line of modern science and can estimate importance of these or those projects.

The second direction – communication development between science and education. For this purpose it is necessary to involve professors working in modern science, in teaching in HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS. Yes, and the academic science "fresh blood", graduate students, post-docks is necessary. At last, it is very important to realize the correct system of preparation of pedagogical shots both for school, and for HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS. Here an important role is played by MPGU as leading pedagogical university.

The third direction – science promoting. It generally becomes on taxpayers money, and it is important to show that means are spent not for nothing. That measurement unclear to the inhabitant of a curve on an oscillograph or creation of the expensive device eventually leads to improvement of quality of life – there are new medical techniques and the tools, new types of household appliances, materials, services.

Presently the way from basic researches before applied development and introduction of their results in production is quite short. To take, for example, touch screens of modern smartphones: from development of technology in Stanford University before emergence of such devices in a pocket practically each person there passed literally some years. The same history and with introduction of the genetic analysis in daily practice. Thus today its prime cost averages about 100 dollars, and interpretation time – some hours.

Or to take the scientific direction of selective laser spectroscopy of single molecules in which our collective works. The first successful experiments of colleagues from the USA and France were carried out in 1989-1990, and already in the 2014th the Nobel Prize was awarded. Such methods are already used in sciences about life, in medical physics. Thus basic researches proceed – for example, we conduct them in laboratories of spectroscopy of MPGU and Institute of spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In my opinion, the case of professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences will promote development of all these directions.
