Castries leaves from a post of general directors AXA

Paris, on March 21. (Dow Jones). The largest insurance company France AXA SA on Monday declared that its chairman and director general Henri Castries will retire on September 1, in 16 years after it held this position.

Company did not specify the reason of unexpected resignations though in the letter to employees Castries explained that process of planning of continuity was started in the 4th quarter 2013 at its request.

"I carefully considered this decision and came to a conclusion that now the best time to delegate powers", - wrote in the letter 61-year-old Castries. He was appointed to a position of general directors in May, 2000.

In this position it will be replaced by the head of the German division of AXA, Thomas Buberl who on Monday is appointed the deputy general directors, company specified. Denis Dyuvern who was the deputy general directors till today, will be appointed the non-executive chairman on September 1, added AXA.<"13>"

Castries did not tell, than plans to be engaged after withdrawal from AXA. The representative of companies reported that he does not intend to retire.
