Today in Berlin the sixth meeting of the governments of Israel and Germany headed by the prime minister of Israel Binyamin Netaniyagu and the German chancellor Angela Merkel took place.

Upon termination of a meeting the prime minister Binyamin Netaniyagu and the chancellor Angela Merkel made the joint statement.

Prime minister Binyamin Netaniyagu:

"I am glad to return to Berlin. Here, in Germany, we are among friends. I tell it from the heart. We deeply appreciate your friendship, friendship which knows no limit, and warm welcome which you accorded to me, the ministers, all members of our delegation.

Regular intergovernmental meetings are the evidence of unique cooperation between our countries and expression of its depth and scope.

Israel and Germany – the developed states possessing the real science, having real universities, the real technologies and the real business sector that is not self-evident, especially in the region where we live.

Is the sixth meeting of the governments of Israel and Germany. During this time the world changed. Five years ago during one of meetings in Jerusalem we heard about the events occurring in Egypt. Only one remains invariable - at the height of the captured Middle East global, terrible shocks, in the region there is one country which has constructed progressive, democratic and innovative society, based on the same system of values which are sacred for Europe and Germany.

We protect ourselves, and it is not subject to doubt. But when we protect ourselves, we protect also your values. Being, in the heart of the Middle East, we prevent tragic, awful death more than hundred million people from hands of radical Islam".
