Physicians from university of Santa Barbara created a first-ever tablet which allows to deliver insulin in an organism of diabetics , without using pricks that has to facilitate psychologically reception of this hormone about what they told at a meeting of Association of druggists of the USA in Orlando. "If we tell p to about diabetes, it was extremely important to us to create methods of delivery of insulin in an organism an oral way. Today diabetics are compelled to stick to themselves insulin on seven times a day, and it often happens a big problem for them. The psychological discomfort often leads to violations of a mode of drug intake, emergence of complications and hospitalization" — declared Samir Mitragotri (Samir Mitragotri) from university of California in Santa Barbara (USA). As are explained by physicians, the main problem with oral delivery of insulin in an organism is that its molecules easily collapse digestive juice in a stomach and intestines therefore scientists work some decades over creation of means of protection of molecules of a hormone from digestive system, reports RIA Novosti news agency. of Mitragotri and her colleague the tablets capable for the first time could create p not only to deliver insulin in a human body an oral way, but also to reduce a medicine dose, having learned to create special "nanoplasters" which are able to be attached to intestines walls. These plasters packed in a protective capsule, preserving them from acids of gastric juice, carry out two functions – they interfere with decomposition of molecules of the insulin hidden in them, and promote their penetration into a blood-groove through walls of a small intestine. according to Mitragotri while these tablets were not approved by regulators and to them still should pass clinical tests for animals and the person. When such permissions will be got, scientists from university of Santa Barbara will check, whether it is possible to use similar tablets with nanoplasters for delivery of other preparations – hormones of growth, antibodies and vaccines – which too decay enzymes and stomach and intestines acids.
