Day of the power engineering specialist. It is established by the decree of Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR of May 23, 1966. On December 22, 1920 at the VIII All-Russian congress of Councils the State plan of electrification Russian Federation was approved (GOELRO). It was created by the State commission on electrification Russian Federation which was headed by the scientist-power engineering specialist, the academician of Academy of Sciences of the USSR Gleb Krzhizhanovsky.
