Analysis genetic materials allowed to recreate an ancient landscape and the disappeared ecosystems. Scientists analysed sedimentary layers from permafrost to Greenland and found in them ecological DNA. Genetic materials estimated age at two million years, reports Nature. Research was conducted by representatives Cambridge university (United Kingdom) and Kopengagensky university (Denmark). They noted that it is the most ancient known DNA.
