Part of Mariinskaya Street in Saint Petersburg renamed into Gertsogsky Lane

In Saint Petersburg returned the historical name to Mariinskaya Street site from turn to Reshetnikov Street. It found a name which bore 12 years before revolution, reported in Smolny press service. Part of roads according to the decision of the Toponymic commission renamed into Gertsogsky Lane. It specified on maps of the city from 1906 to 1918. The exact origin of this name is not known, however it is supposed that it is connected with the personality G. O. Gertsa – the managing director of the Siemens and Galsk plant which was nearby.
