"Now 70% of the population Atyrau Region receive drinking water from Ural River. It is the regional center and three areas with total of inhabitants of 468 thousand people. Another 24% of the population (three areas – 162 thousand inhabitants) receive water from the main conduit Astrakhan – Mangyshlak. 6% of the population of area are 38 thousand people, receive water from underground sources.
