Fossils of the largest sea reptiles are found in the Swiss Alps
Paleontologists studied some fossilized remains of three ichthyosauruses new to science which had to surpass in the sizes almost all ever animals existing on a planet. Nakhodka was made in the Swiss Alps between 1976 and 1990, and studied only recently. It includes the biggest of ever found teeth of the ichthyosaurus. So, width of a fang of the ancient sea monster is twice more, than at any known water reptile. Thus the biggest previous record-holder tooth belongs to the ichthyosaurus about 15 meters long.
