Retreat of the Antarctic ice board can cause chain reaction

Thawing of an ice cover and an exposure of the earth can start chain reaction and even more accelerate processes of retreat of ice in Antarctica, according to the research published on May 13 in Nauchny zhurnal Nature by Geoscience. In the research, the carried-out Meteorological bureau, universities Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Stockholm, scientists came to unfavourable results according to which temperature increase and an earth exposure under an ice board in process of its retreat in Antarctica will increase an amount of precipitation that can provoke processes which will accelerate further loss of ice.
