Only 2% of ecological penalties are spent for ecology — Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation

The vast majority of ecological penalties which were collected in 2020, were directed not on environment protection. The head of the Ministry of natural resources and ecology Alexander Kozlov. It explained that with colleagues from Federal Service for the Supervision of Natural Resources the staff of the ministry took base of ecological penalties approximately on 23 billion rubles for 2020 and found out that they go to different levels of the budget — municipal, regional, federal — and are spent for those needs which heads will count necessary.
