"Vector" began tests of the world's second preparation from smallpox

Novosibirsk scientific center of virology and biotechnology "Vector" began the first phase of clinical tests against NIOH-14 smallpox, the press service reported Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare. 90 volunteers take part in research aged from 18 till 50 years. Duration of clinical trial will make 174 days. "Now there is no domestic chemical preparation for treatment and emergency prevention of natural smallpox and other ortopoksvirusny diseases at the person" — is spoken in the department message.
