10 years ago (2010) construction the Nord Stream gas pipeline began. The international consortium of five large European energy companies for design, constructions and operation of the gas pipeline was created in 2005. Its shareholders are companies PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" (51% of actions), Wintershall Holding GmbH Dea GmbH (15,5%), PEG Infrastruktur AG (15,5%), N.V.Nederlandse Gasunie (9%) and Engie S. A (9%). The export gas pipeline from Russian Federation to Europe is laid on a bottom of the Baltic Sea, and directly connects PUBLIC JOINT-STOCK COMPANY "GAZPROM" and the European consumers, passing the transit states.
