Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" started VoLTE
the Moscow Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" reported about start of services transfers of voices on networks of the fourth generation of cellular communication of the LTE standard. The traditional international name of this of services VoLTE, but in Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" it received the name "HD a voice in Network 4G".
Earlier this service was in a network the Moscow Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" in test operation. Now it access to all subscribers of a network, and irrespective of a tariff plan.
Service works only at one smartphone
asHowever, owners of only one smartphone - Sony Xperia F5121 of black color can use it, but in companies promise that the number of compatible models will extend. For implementation of voice calls through the LTE network the subscriber needs to connect the corresponding service.
the Voice transfer on networks Network 4G has a number of advantages, especially if both subscribers participating in connection, have support of this function. Quality of a voice transfer is much higher standard, and the speed of establishment of connection rather small - about 2 sec.
Also the VoLTE function allows the subscriber not to interrupt withInternet session according to the LTE standard for the period of telephone conversation. Access to Internet does not interrupt and on the devices connected to the smartphone (if the smartphone is used as an access point).
In 2015 of Moskovsky "Beeline" too started the service VoLTE, but also in its network it is available only on one model of Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 smartphones. Besides, at "Beeline" this service is available only to subscribers of postoplatny (credit) system of calculations while at Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" such restrictions are not present.
B than the reason of delays with VoLTE
Technically cellular networks of the largest Russian operators - "Beeline", MTS and Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" - are ready for a long time to start of services VoLTE, however to its practical realization stirs lack of the corresponding regulatory base. In 2015 "Beeline" got special permission from Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for start of these services.
In 2016 of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications were carried out by change of the branch regulatory base necessary for work of VoLTE. However there was unresolved a question with intelligence services with which it is necessary to intercept a voice traffic of users for carrying out operational search actions (SORM).
B Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" reported that the operator now has all necessary permissions for VoLTE work. Though service at the operator is realized only on one smartphone, in Open joint-stock company "MegaFon" say that it is a question not about special, and full-fledged permission. New models of smartphones will be added when the corresponding support will be provided by their producers.
